It's really true according to my own business experiences. Material costs and labour costs are already very high in China these days. All my clients already found hard to have products manufactured in China. Buyers start to purchase products from somewhere else in Asia as long as those are relevant to their needs. 15,000 factories are considering to move to other countries in Asia for production set up not completely a rumour. Some may move to up north of China for advantage of lower labour cost. It's really true, but the labours need to be trained, and it takes time. The skills and knowledge of labours are still far from those in down south.

Somehow, the visa situation does really speed up the process of factories movement.

Although low labour costs of Vietnam and India already became the main attraction of investors, for some critical issues India and Vietnam are still missing compared with Chinese production plants. India is well known in late shipment. Until about 1 month ago, Vietnam had the reputation of becoming a great place for labour intensive manufacturing, because of low labour costs, etc. But recently they have been hit by extremely high inflation, labour problems, etc. that people are now scared that by the time they get there and set up that the costs will be too high.

Anyway, this site is very useful and comprehensive. I added it on mine already www.yogayuga.com

Cheers!

The government officials who decided on this policy will be left scratching their heads in a the next year when tens of thousands of businesses move to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and India. It was already starting to get a little expensive for companies to manufacture in parts of China, but this visa situation will speed up the process of business flight. I've heard the rumor a few times that 15,000 factories in Shenzhen/Dongguan will move to other countries within the next year.
