Athens to Beijing, 2008

A number of groups have organised cycle tours from Athens to Beijing to coincide with the 2008 Olympic games and the chamber blog will follow a few of them.

Crotos - BaltiCCycle The first to depart are an international team organised by Crotos, a cycle tour company based in Poland. More details and links on the Crotos - BaltiCCycle page.  The route used by this tour follows the old Silk Road.

Accor Beijing In the early part of March, the exact date is uncertain, a group of eight students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology departed from Athens. News about the team and how they are getting along isn’t easy to find and most, so far, has been in Chinese. No problem for their Chinese audience but a real headache for me. Helenic Cycling Organisation At the end of April the Hellenic Cycling Organisation will be starting their expedition to Beijing. According to their website the team will consist of Greek and Chinese cyclists only.
